M.Lewis 2018
This student recently arrived at our school and instead of being discouraged by the "adjustment," he has come each day with a wonderful smile and joy filled heart. We are so glad to have him, he is such a blessing and source of encouragement.
This little fella has so much love in his heart and is genuinely kind and considerate. In the video, he discusses what he is thankful for. As a teacher, I am thankful for the ability to teach him and be blessed by his wonderful outlook.

This month students have learned why we celebrate various holidays, in particular, Thanksgiving. The ability to appreciate all that is good, despite the overwhelming need and desperation, is the premise of why we celebrate. We take time to acknowledge all that life has blessed us with and come with a grateful heart.
It is easy in the pursuit of growth and greatness to see all the areas of weakness still yet to be mastered and become disheartened and dissatisfied. As an educator, I have had to develop an "attitude of gratitude." The ability to see the strength despite the concerns, to see what is, as opposed to what is not. The gift of gratefulness has been monumental in maintaining hope and encouraging myself and my students to press forward. There will always be obstacles on the path ahead, but having the ability to persevere with JOY is key. We can not control our circumstances but we can choose our commitment. |
