M.Lewis 2018
This moment in class made me smile all day. Peer to peer feedback is powerful. Watch and observe how one student praises, but also gives a "polish" on how to improve. What left the biggest impression on me, was the joy clearly shown by both students. Collaboration lets us know we are in this together and always have an invaluable resource in each other.

Students receive badges throughout class to acknowledge their efforts. On the right, you will see one young man putting the "friendly fixer" award on his classmate because he gave sound advice on how to help him improve his writing.

Mrs. Tracey is our Kindergarten writing and social living teacher. I am so grateful for her and the hard work she invested into my current students. She helped this young man during after school duty with his "big map." When he presented his map in class, he said that his favorite part was working with her. I love this! Our children will always be our students no matter whose class they are in. We will love, support and cheer them on forever. |
This student is presenting her writing on what we grow locally in Assumption Parish. She drew this conclusion from using a map key on products generated from Louisiana. She did a great job speaking clearly and with confidence. Her classmates validated that her answer and picture aligned with quality work because of her writing and picture. I was extremely impressed that the students could infer that the sugar cane was bent in the drawing because of wind. I am so proud of our students and know that if they have come this far in a month, the potential that they can reach by May will be mighty! The best is yet to come.
